So are these selfish indulgences for the bride and groom or a great idea?
Hello,

What do Bogleheads think of destination weddings, which seem to be an increasing trend. (Definition: a wedding in another city or location that neither family is from).
As a guest, you often have to fly to the destination, rent a car, stay in a hotel (sometimes expensive if at a remote resort) and pay for meals (in addition to your wedding gift).
For the family, it promotes togetherness because everyone is in the same location for 1-2 days (rather than just driving to the ceremony).

So are these selfish indulgences for the bride and groom or a great idea?
Please help.

I didn't find the right solution from the internet.
